Old Barn Conversion

At the end 2022 we gained planning permission and listed building consent for the conversion of a barn in Farmborough into a family home.  Working with heritage and ecological constraints, permission was granted for a conversion to a 4 bedroom house, with a stone and glass extension to house a modern kitchen space.  The internal walls are to be insulated with hemp-lime, to allow the existing structure to breathe and maintain their historic uneven character. Although our client ultimately sold the site, we were happy to hear the project was bought by a fellow Passivhaus Designer who hopes to build out the scheme to high standards of sustainability.
